I love skirts and dresses, this means that I wear lots of tights in winter. In the latest years I've improved a method to keep my hosiery tidy: and I really do like it because I can save a lot of room and everything is well displayed. This is a way to understand exactly what you have and to avoid to buy a new pair of black 50den tights, once again, just because it was missing in the closet!
Adoro gonne e abiti, questo significa che d'inverno indosso molti collant. Negli anni ho affinato una tecnica per tenere le calze ordinate: mi piace molto perchè risparmia molto spazio e consente di avere tutto ben in vista. Un metodo per capire sempre esattamente cosa si ha a disposizione e per evitare l'acquisto dell'ennesimo doppione della 50denari nera solo perchè era dispersa nell'armadio!
All you need is:
- a box, in my case a men's shoes box (a little bigger than women's)
- your hands a bit wet to prevent pulled threads while you manage tights
- your tights, of course
- your tights, of course
Tutto quello che occorre sono:
- una scatola, nel mio caso una scatola da scarpe da uomo (un po' più grande di quelle da donna)
- le mani un po' umide per non tirare i fili delle calze mentre si maneggiano
- le calze, naturalmente
The method you put your stockings in is up to you: I tried to split them by colour and weight. Besides, next to the little white box on the right there are two pairs of nylon knee-highs (I know, they are not very nice to see, but so comfortable when I wear trousers -rarely- and they avoid to me to freeze!) and underneath there are my lighest weight tights, those I wear in spring when it's cold in the early morning and warm during the day.
Il metodo con cui si inseriscono i collant nella scatola è arbitrario: io ho cercato di raggruppare per colore e per pesantezza della calza. Inoltre, vicino alla confezione sulla destra ci sono due paia di gambaletti (lo so, esteticamente non sono il massimo, ma per quelle volte che indosso i pantaloni evitano il congelamento!) e sotto di essi i collant che considero "leggerissimi", da portare in quelle giornate primaverili in cui si esce di casa al mattino con il freddo e si arriva a mezzogiorno che si ha quasi caldo.
Every year, when it's time to swap the summer's clothes with the winter's, I check every single stocking, I trow away the wasted ones (that are unwearable any more), I put everything in the box quietly and I close it. Et voilà! For the next six months my tights are in place and tidy.
Ogni anno, quando è ora di fare il cambio dell'armadio, controllo tutte le calze, scartando quelle irrimediabilmente rovinate, poi ripongo tutto nella scatola e chiudo con il coperchio. Et voilà! Per sei mesi le mie calze sono ben riposte e non ingombrano gli spazi dell'armadio.
Actually, I do the same thing with my wool stockings, adding a tiny bag with lavander in it against moths.
This method can be applied with any type of stockings or socks, for example with leggings. I just didn't show it with leggings because I don't wear them, so I explained this tip with things I use every day.
La stessa cosa la faccio per i calzettoni di lana, aggiungendo un sacchettino di lavanda per prevenire le tarme.
Naturalemente questo metodo può essere adottato per qualsiasi tipo di calza, come ad esempio i leggings. Personalmente non li indosso quindi ho proposto questo trucchetto con i capi che utilizzo quotidianamente.
