Charade / Sciarada (1963)

This movie is a catwalk of coats and hats, more than a detective story. Actually, it's a nice movie filmed in 1963 and counts actors such as Audrey Hepburn (our top model), Cary Grant e Walter Matthau.

You might have noticed that I truly love these actors and vintage movies, so I won't waste time any longer and pass by to the outfits worn by Regina. I think it should be important to underline that Audrey has a long and slim body-shape, which is perfect for typical 60s' trends, and we'll find them in the outfits used for this film.

Più che un film giallo, una sfilata di cappotti e accessori abbinati. Film gradevole, si tratta di un giallo girato nel 1963 e vanta attori come Audrey Hepburn (la nostra modella per questo post), Cary Grant e Walter Matthau.
Ormai credo si sia capito, adoro gli attori protagonisti e adoro i film con almeno quarant'anni, quindi inutile dilungarsi e procedo subito con gli abiti indossati dalla protagonista Regina. Vale la pena fare notare che Audrey ha un corpo esile ed allungato, e si addice molto ai trend tipicamente anni 60, ampiamente sfruttati in questi outfit.









As there are many outfits, I'll split this post in two, this one will be about outwears and the next one will collect all the other outfit left.

Dato che gli outfit sono tanti ma meritano tutti di essere descritti, suddividerò questa carrellata in due post, suddivisi relativamente per le mise con i capispalla e quelle senza.

For the initial scenes, Audrey wears a sand-coloured coat typically 60s. It's straight, with three-quarter sleeves, and it has a shirt collar and quite big buttons. A sand-coloured hat, a white scarf and a pair of white gloves match all the outfit. There are also some accessories contrasting in colour, which are a pair of very low-heel pumps and a little purse, both in black. Besides, she wears pearl earrings.

Nelle prime scene del film, Audrey indossa un cappottino color sabbia, dritto, manica a tre quarti, colletto a camicia e con i bottoni tono su tono piuttosto grandi, in tipico stile anni 60. Al capospalla sono stati abbinati un cappellino color sabbia, un foulard bianco e un paio di guanti sempre bianchi. Altri accessori a contrasto sono decolleté con il tacco molto basso e una borsetta a mano, entrambi neri piuttosto lucidi. Infine immancabili le perle come orecchini.

This scene has set during a funeral, that's why Audrey wears a total-black outfit, both the coat and the hat with veil covering her face. What can I say, she's always so elegant and polished! Even at funerals! :-)

Nella scena seguente, Audrey è vestita a lutto, quindi indossa un outfit total black con cappotto e un cappello con veletta. Che dire, non esistono situazioni in cui non sia elegante e raffinata! Anche i funerali! :-)

This third outfit has stronger matches, but, as I wrote before, Audrey's grace lets her wear every kind of colour and texture spontaneously. In this particular case, the protagonist of the outfit is a red coat, very simple, with a high, rigid collar and a half-belt on the back to soften the waist-line and make it more feminine. This coat has been matched with leopard-printed hat, and still hand bag, shoes and a pair of leather gloves, all in black.

Nel terzo outfit gli accostamenti sono sicuramente più audaci, ma, come prima, la grazia innata di Audrey le permette di indossare qualunque accostamento di colori e texture. In questo caso, infatti, indossa un capotto rosso dalle linee molto pulite, collo alto e un piccolo martingala per addolcire il punto vita e renderlo più femminile. In abbinamento un cappellino animalier dalla forma un po' allungata, una borsa, scarpe e un paio di guanti in pelle tutti di colore nero.

Here's a great classic, the sand-coloured trench coat: double-breasted, a wide collar, with a tight belt on the waist-line, middle length to the knees. To enrich the outfit, Audrey also wears a sand scarf on her head and a beautiful pair of sunglasses.

Ecco un classico intramontabile, l'impermeabile color sabbia: doppio petto, dallo scollo ampio, con una cintura in tessuto stretta in vita, lungo fino al ginocchio. Per arricchire l'outfit senza banalizzarlo, Audrey indossa un fazzoletto in testa tono su tono e un bellissimo paio di occhiali da sole.

The coat show ends up with a mustard straight coat. It has a low-bias roll collar, three quarter sleeves and pockets sewn vertically, and still it has big black buttons in contrast. Matched accessories are, even in this case, black shoes, a little black purse and a pair of leather black gloves, combined with the coat's buttons.

La saga dei capispalla si conclude con un cappotto dritto lungo fino al ginocchio color senape. Il colletto è leggermente rialzato, ha le maniche a tre quarti e le tasche posizionate in verticale, infine dei grossi bottoni neri in contrasto. Gli accessori abbinati, anche in questo caso, sono decolleté basse, una borsa a mano e un paio di guanti di pelle, tutto in nero per richiamare i bottoni.
